Lorne's CV - Water Efficiency Lorne's CV - Educator During Lorne's 14 year career in the Irrigation Industry, he has served to help direct irrigation in Canada and the United States.  As a Certified Irrigation Designer, Certified Irrigation Contractor, Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor and a Certified Water Practitioner with California and Nevada, Mr. Haveruk is among the highest certified in the country. Recently elected to the IA Board of Directors, Lorne is only the second Canadian ever to become a board member of the Irrigation Association which is the heart of the American Irrigation Industry association.  He currently serves the Irrigation Commodity Group. He started his irrigation career in California in the early 1980's.  Prior experience from the Ski Industry exposed Lorne to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pressurized water systems.  Creation of technical training and emergency procedure manuals was also undertaken. In 1989 Lorne launched a design-build landscape/lighting contract business.  During the past 14 years the company has installed over 1000 systems ranging from sports fields, golf courses, commercial & residential properties, nurseries, rooftops, and indoor systems.

During Anna’s 15 year career involved in and overseeing various family owned businesses, she has acquired a remarkable insight into business numbers and the hidden story they tell. She has been and still is instrumental in the financial viability of businesses which usually struggle to exist in this industry. Anna dedicates many hours to ensure everything lines up as needed as well as dedicated time to her own financial company which she launched very successfully in 2004

Prior experience from the retail, recreation, and hotel industry, Anna was responsible for the creation and implementation of policies procedures and rewards programs where she acquired most of her hands on training. Here she was exposed to dealing with people, good and bad, which is very important for the service industry. Her financial ability was developed through technical training plus many hours of actual work with numbers. She is never out a penny!

In 1989, Anna was part of the launch of a design-build landscape/lighting contract business – Diamond Head Sprinklers Inc. With her input many policies, procedures, financial checks were put in place immediately. The businesses have been profitable and with good staff can be even more successful. During the past 15 years the company has installed over 1100 systems ranging from sports fields, golf courses, commercial and residential properties, nurseries, rooftops, as well as indoor systems. In 2003 Anna took over the reins of DHS and turned a healthy profit. She was perhaps the only woman boss in the entire irrigation industry at that time.

DH Water Management Services was founded as an Irrigation Consulting business focusing on the efficient use of outdoor water. WMS educates and trains those who design, install, service and operate systems, while assessing, auditing and analyzing consumption levels of existing irrigation systems, making every drop count. Rain water collection, cistern storage systems and reclaimed water are ongoing areas of expansion for WMS services.

Having worked for many years in the irrigation and landscape-consulting field I am sure that with my experiences in the field installing irrigation, and teaching these techniques to others, combined with your many years of developing classes, auditing systems and instructing, we can establish a well balanced program.
